(Seoul=NSP News Agency) soon ki Lee Journalist = SK Telecom launched 5G roaming service on July 17 this year, and will expand 5G roaming coverage to more than 20 countries next year.

SK Telecom selected Swisscom as its 5G roaming partner and successfully launched the world's first 5G roaming in July this year.

Switzerland is one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations.

Since the launch of the 5G roaming service in July, a total of 3,000 people have used it for three months until now.

Kim Nam-ho, head of SK Telecom’s roaming business team, said that it would expand the 5G roaming service currently available only in Switzerland to four countries within the year and expand coverage to more than 20 countries next year, including the United States, China and Japan.

SK Telecom regularly dispatches engineers to 10 countries most visited by customers to test 5G roaming quality directly.

Besides, SK Telecom discuss roaming with mobile-service companies in other countries.
