(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = SK Hynix has started supplying 24GB(gigabyte) packages of LPDDR5X(Low Power Double Data Rate 5 eXtended), a high-performance DRAM for mobile devices such as smartphones, to customers.

The company succeeded in mass-producing LPDDR5X in November of last year, and this time, it developed and delivered a package with a capacity of up to 24GB for the first time as a mobile DRAM.

“By introducing the HKMG(High-K Metal Gate) process to the LPDDR5X 24GB package, we were able to achieve the industry’s highest level of power efficiency and performance at the same time,” SK Hynix said, “This time, we added the only 24GB high-capacity package to our mobile DRAM portfolio to respond much wider to customer needs.”

The LPDDR5X 24GB package operates from 1.01 to 1.12V(volts), the lowest voltage reference range set by the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council(JEDEC). The data processing speed is 68GB per second, which is equivalent to processing 13 FHD(Full-HD) movies in one second.

Prior to this announcement, the company mass-produced and supplied new products to OPPO, a smartphone manufacturer, from last month. OPPO built it into its latest flagship smartphone, Oneplus Ace 2 Pro, and released it on the 10th.
