(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = Last month, household loans in all financial sectors increased by 200 billion won, the first rebound since August last year. In particular, the increase in the balance of mortgage loans, which turned to an increase in March, expanded.

According to the ‘Household Loan Trends in April 2023’ announced by the Financial Services Commission on the 11th, household loans in all financial sectors increased by 200 billion won in April. However, the rate of increase or decrease compared to the same month of the previous year was -1.5%, a slight increase.

By loan category, the increase has expanded since the balance of mortgage loans shifted to an increase in March, and the decline in credit loans has been reduced.

In the case of mortgage loan, it increased by 1.9 trillion won due to an increase in mortgage loan in the banking sector though the mortgage loan in the secondary financial sector decreased. Other loans decreased by 1.7 trillion won in both the banking and non-banking sectors.

By industry, household loans in the banking sector increased, and household loans in the secondary financial sector decreased.

Household loans in the banking sector increased by 2.4 trillion won, the first increase this year. Housing loans in the banking sector increased by 2.8 trillion won due to an increase in general individual housing loans and policy mortgage despite a decrease in charter loans and collective loans.

In the case of other loans, the decline slowed, with a total decrease of 500 billion won as the decline in credit loans decreased. In the case of the 2nd financial sector, insurance, credit specialized financial companies, and savings banks increased slightly, while mutual credit decreased by 2.2 trillion won.
