(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = In the 2023 construction capability evaluation, Samsung C&T and Hyundai Engineering & Construction remained firmly entrenched in the 2023 rankings, taking first and second place, respectively. However, Hyundai Development Company gave up its 10th place to Hoban Construction and was pushed out of the top 10.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘2023 Construction Capacity Evaluation’ result announcement on the 31st, Samsung C&T ranked first with KRW 20,729.6 billion, and Hyundai E&C ranked second with KRW 14,979.1 billion. Daewoo E&C rose to third place with KRW 9.768.3 trillion won, up from sixth place last year.

In the case of civil engineering and construction(civil engineering + construction), Samsung C&T, Hyundai E&C, and Daewoo E&C ranked in the order of construction performance by industry in 2022.

Along with this, the main rankings of construction performance by major construction types in 2022 were in the order of Hyundai E&C, GS E&C, and Samsung C&T in the case of subways. In addition, in the case of apartments, they were Daewoo E&C, GS E&C, and Hyundai E&C.

Accordingly, the results of this year’s construction capability evaluation will be applied from August 1st. It is used to restrict bidding qualifications and select construction companies when ordering construction, and is also used for credit evaluation and guarantee review.
