fullscreen(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = Samsung C&T's construction division (hereinafter referred to as Samsung C&T) plans to commercialize a next-generation cooling system, a core infrastructure facility for data centers, by collaborating with DataBin, a domestic expert in cooling technology.
The cooling system developed by Samsung C&T this time is using a liquid immersion cooling method in which servers are directly immersed in non-conductive liquid to dissipate heat.
Samsung C&T is expected to accelerate commercialization by securing results that comply with the global standard OCP (Open Compute Project, a data center standard established by global companies) through domestically developed technology. Compared to conventional air-cooling methods, it has been confirmed that power consumption has been reduced by nearly 80%, with a power efficiency index of 1.02, indicating the highest level of efficiency.
