(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = On May 1 (local time), a U.S. federal court in California ruled in favor of Epic Games in its legal battle against Apple, determining that Apple had willfully violated a court order.

The court had previously ordered Apple to allow developers to provide alternative payment options outside of the App Store for their customers.

Following the ruling, Epic Games revealed several planned updates to the Epic Games Store starting in June.

Notably, beginning in June 2025, Epic Games Store will charge a 0% commission on individual app revenue until it exceeds $1 million annually. Once revenue surpasses that threshold, a 12% revenue share will apply.

Additionally, Epic Games will introduce support for developer-hosted web shops. Through these web shops, players can access external payment options that bypass in-app purchase fees charged by platforms like Apple and Google.

These updates reflect compliance with the court’s decision, allowing developers to support external payments for players.
