(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = SK Broadband officially launched commercial services for the SJC2 international submarine cable, which connects seven countries across Asia, raising expectations on expanding global infrastructure business.

Spanning a total of 10,500km, the SJC2 is a next-generation submarine network capable of transmitting data at a speed of 9 terabits per second (Tbps). It is expected to serve as a vital backbone in responding to the growing demand for AI and cloud services. Through this network, SK Broadband aims to expand its global footprint in dedicated data lines, cloud services, and data center operations.

A company representative stated, " With the commercial launch of SJC2, we have secured the capability to handle global traffic demand with stability and competitiveness. This milestone is expected to contribute significantly to our future growth engine."

Meanwhile, since March of this year, SK Broadband has also been participating in the construction of the E2A submarine cable, which connects Korea, the United States, Japan, and Taiwan.
