(Seoul=NSP News Agency) dILFUZA Sultanova Journalist = SK Telecom jointly KCC ICT will develop vehicle control service using Internet (IoT).
When the IOT-based vehicle control service is commercialized, the status of the vehicle can be checked through real-time monitoring, and the management and maintenance can be performed in accordance with the status of the vehicle.
Especially, IoT-based vehicle control service is 50% cheaper than service using existing mobile communication network, and service module price can be significantly lowered.
Companies plan to use the vehicle data collected from OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) equipment to develop a variety of services that not only analyze the car's driving habits but also indicate when to replace consumables such as batteries and tires.
KCC and SK Telecom are testing interworking of OBD equipment and platform and LoRa network and plans to link LTE-M network in 4Q.
