END7, Read 0(Seoul=NSP News Agency) YEON SUN HAN Journalist = Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology has succeeded in developing a battery material named 'graphene ball' which has a 45% larger battery capacity, and accelerates charging speed 5 times faster than existing lithium ion batteries.
It takes almost an hour for the current battery to be fully charged even with fast charging technology, but the battery with graphene ball material can be fully charged in 12 minutes.
In addition, its temperature can be maintained up to 60 degrees Celsius, which is the standard temperature required by electric vehicle batteries. Its results have been published recently in 'Nature Communications' online, titled "Graphene balls for lithium rechargeable batteries with fast charging and high volumetric energy densities".
