Samsung Electronics' maximum performance of quarterly sales and operating profit in 4Q

(Seoul=NSP News Agency) YEON SUN HAN Journalist = Samsung Electronics recorded maximum performance in sales and net operating profits in 4th quarter of 2017 both on a consolidated basis with KRW 65.98 trillion in sales and KRW 15.15 trillion in operating profit.
In 2017, the company achieved sales of KRW 239.58 trillion and operating profit of KRW 53.65 trillion. 4th quarter sales grew approximately 24% compared to last year due to continued memory market upturn and sales increase of flexible OLED panels.
Operating profit also rose 5.9 trillion won year-on-year basis, as the profitability of the semiconductor business improved significantly. The operating profit margin also reached 23%. 4th quarter results were affected by stronger KRW over US dollar as well as other major currencies including with a negative impact of about KRW 660 billion compared to previous quarter.
