(Seoul=NSP News Agency) soon ki Lee Journalist = SK Square, SK Telecom, and SK Hynix announced the launch of the ‘SK ICT Alliance’ which jointly develops and invests in ICT convergence technology and promotes global advancement at CES 2022, the home appliances and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA.

SK Square, SK Telecom, and SK Hynix are the top decision-making bodies that discuss R&D cooperation and joint investment in the domestic and overseas semiconductors and ICT fields, and promote global advancement.

The first result of the synergy between the three SK ICT companies is the entry of SAPEON, an AI semiconductor for domestic data centers, into the global market. Through a joint investment between the three companies, the US corporation ‘SAPEON Inc’(hereinafter referred to as SAPEON) will be established to target the global AI semiconductor market in earnest. SK Telecom plans to increase the lineup of SAPEON models exclusively for data centers and autonomous driving in the mid to long-term by leading the development of SAPEON technology.

SAPEON will serve as an outpost for expanding the AI semiconductor business, mainly with major US-based global big tech companies as its main customers.

SK Telecom plans to innovate the three major services of T-space, ifland, and AI Agent, predicting that future ICT services will become 'AI-VERSE(a compound word of AI and Universe)', a world in which AI and metaverse are fused.
