SK C&C, Obtaining Approval From the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for AI Solution for Brain Infarction Diagnosis

(Seoul=NSP NEWS AGENCY) = SK C&C’s AI solution for diagnosing brain infarction, Medical Insight+ Brain Infarct, has been approved as a class 3 medical device by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety(MFDS).
SK C&C used its own deep learning algorithm to train Medical Insight+ Cerebral Infarction on imaging data from thousands of stroke patients.
Medical Insight+ Cerebral Infarction analyzes non-contrast brain CT images within seconds to detect abnormalities. To help healthcare providers make a quick decision in a timely manner, it shows the likelihood of a stroke on a scale of 0 to 100%, with seven levels of severity.

Abnormal areas are marked with a heat map or outline, helping medical staff check even minute areas that are easy to miss.
When used in conjunction with Medical Insight+ Brain Hemorrhage, an existing KFDA-cleared AI for brain haemorrhage diagnosis, it can simultaneously detect brain haemorrhage and cerebral infarction on non-contrast CT images.
