SKT Reports Possible Leak of USIM-Related Data Due to Malware Attack

fullscreen(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = SK Telecom has revealed that a hacker infiltrated its internal system and deployed malware, potentially leaking some USIM-related information.
The incident was recognized on the evening of April 19, and after, SKT reported the case to authorities, deleted the malware, and isolated the suspicious equipment believed to be hacked.
As of now, there have been no confirmed cases of the leaked information being misused. In response, SKT has strengthened its measures to block illegal USIM swaps and abnormal authentication attempts. Additionally, it is offering a free “USIM Protection Service” for customers who wish to add an extra layer of security.
