(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = Samsung Electronics (005930) will officially introduce external generative AI services in June for employees in its DX Division.
The move is aimed at strengthening the company’s global business responsiveness, improving work productivity, and enhancing the competitiveness of its products and services.
Samsung Electronics plans to operate a two-track system, continuing to advance its in-house generative AI model, Samsung Gauss, while also leveraging AI services from external big tech companies.
From April to May this year, the company conducted field evaluations with 2,500 employees on external generative AI candidates, including Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude.
During the evaluation process, Samsung reviewed the practical usability of the tools in real work environments, employee feedback from the field, and security management systems.
Access to external AI tools will be granted to employees who complete security training.
Samsung Electronics plans to increase the use of AI in areas such as product and service planning, global marketing, multilingual business communications, and market and customer data analysis.
The company is also pushing forward with AI transformation in its manufacturing sites.
Samsung Electronics has previously announced a plan to convert all of its domestic and overseas production facilities into “AI autonomous factories” by 2030.
The core of the AI autonomous factory initiative is to intelligentize the entire manufacturing process by using digital twin-based simulations and AI agents for quality, production, and logistics.
Samsung Electronics plans to accelerate its company-wide AX transformation around two key pillars: becoming an “AI Driven Company” in business operations and building “AI Driven Factories” across its manufacturing sites.
