(Seoul=NSP News Agency) soon ki Lee Journalist = LG Electronics is going to significantly expand LG Channel service, which is a free content platform that LG Electronics has installed on webOS TVs.
LG Electronics plans to launch additional LG channel services in 11 European countries, including the Netherlands and Switzerland, within this year. The number of service countries and channels will significantly increase from the current 1,600 channels in 14 countries to 1,900 channels in 25 countries. South Korean customers can watch 144 free channels through LG channels.
LG Electronics recently added K-content channels, including YG TV, a real-time live TV channel of YG Entertainment, and New K.Movies, a Korean movie channel, to LG channel in four countries: the US, Canada, Brazil and Mexico.
The provision of K-Content Channel within LG Channel has been collaborated with its content partner NEW ID. The number of countries in which LG Channel provides K-content channels has increased from 4 European countries to 8 countries in the Americas.
In Europe and Latin America, channels from well-known content providers such as Pluto TV and Rakuten TV, as well as popular channels favored by local consumers such as Qwest TV, a jazz/electro music streaming service, will also be added.
