(Seoul=NSP News Agency) hYUNJIN KIM Journalist = HiteJinro and Korean Public Service and Transport workers' Union (Union) ended a six-month-long strike.

The Korean drink company announced that Sooyang Logistics and truckers reached an agreement on last 9 September, before the Chuseok holiday.

The agreement contained ▲increasing delivery fees by 5% ▲raising welfare funds for each plant from 1% of revenue, ▲and applying 150% of the usual rate for holiday delivery. In particular, it said withdrawing actions for damages against union members in exchange for no strike again and terminating a hire agreement with some persons in charge of the strike.

A HiteJinro officer said, “other matters except for increasing delivery rate will be dealt with through consultation between Sooyang Logistics and truckers,” and “This strike brought many issues, including prolonged downtime. However, the two parties didn’t give up and consistently talked to each other to reach a common ground.”

Adding, “As the negotiation is well completed, I want to express my gratitude to the Police who have worked hard to settle the situation at Icheon, Cheongju, Hongcheon plants, and our headquarter.”

Meanwhile, Hite Jinro’s stock price experienced a good start and sold at 29,400, which is a 3.70% increase (or up 1050) from the previous trading day as of 3 PM.
