(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = Samsung Electronics reached an agreement on its 2026 wage negotiations with the joint bargaining group of Samsung Electronics labor unions on May 27.

The two sides held a signing ceremony for the wage agreement at Samsung Electronics’ The UniverSE in Giheung, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

Samsung Electronics and the joint bargaining group reached a tentative agreement late on May 20, one day before a planned general strike.

The agreement was later approved in a union member vote held from 2 p.m. on May 22 to 10 a.m. on May 27, with a voter turnout of 95.5% and an approval rate of 73.7%.

The agreement includes an average wage increase of 6.2% and the introduction of a new Special Management Performance Bonus, funded by 10.5% of the semiconductor division’s business performance.

Under conditions set by the company, the Special Management Performance Bonus will be paid entirely in company shares on an after-tax basis.

Some analysts have suggested that, depending on the conditions, employees in the semiconductor division could receive bonuses worth approximately KRW 200 million to KRW 600 million.

Employees in the DX, or finished products, division and the Customer Service Business Team will receive company shares worth KRW 6 million.
