(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = Samsung Electronics unveiled ‘Flex Titanium’ display technology to be applied to next-generation Galaxy foldable devices.

Flex Titanium was developed based on the foldable display technology accumulated by Samsung Electronics over seven generations.

Samsung Electronics focused on improving display durability and screen crease reduction by combining advanced display technology with new materials and mechanical design.

This technology utilizes a titanium alloy film instead of a plastic film. The titanium alloy film is positioned at the bottom of the OLED panel to support durability and improve screen wrinkling.

Samsung Electronics explained that it contributed to the slimming down of foldable displays by making the film thin through an ultra-precision rolling process.

The titanium plate that supports the display when folding or unfolding has also been improved.

Samsung Electronics designed it to reduce the size of the micro-holes in the folding area to increase screen support when unfolded and ensure flexibility when folded.

High-resolution design and next-generation new organic materials were also applied to improve both image quality and power efficiency.

Flex Titanium technology will be applied for the first time to the next-generation Galaxy foldable product.

Samsung Electronics plans to unveil its next-generation foldable product at the ‘Galaxy Unpack’ event to be held in London, UK on the 22nd.
