(Seoul=NSP NEWS) = LG CNS has been selected as a founding member of the AI Materials Foundry, a global consortium established by UK-based AI startup CuspAI.

The AI Materials Foundry is a global alliance aimed at accelerating innovation in advanced materials development through artificial intelligence. A total of 48 global companies and research institutions, including NVIDIA, Meta and AMD, are participating in the initiative.

Through its partnership with CuspAI, LG CNS plans to expand its artificial transformation, or AX, business in Korea’s industrial materials sector.

CuspAI’s agentic AI platform generates and validates potential materials based on experimental data. Finnish chemicals company Kemira reportedly used the platform to shorten a development process that typically takes several years to around six months, while exploring approximately 300 trillion molecular structures.

As a platform delivery partner, LG CNS will support Korean manufacturing and materials companies in discovering new materials. Its role will cover materials data processing, interpretation of validation results, and platform operation and maintenance.

LG CNS plans to enable companies in advanced industries, including semiconductors, chemicals and energy, to carry out new materials development projects without having to build large-scale AI infrastructure themselves.
