We are at the 120th Traditional Bullfighting Contest, a very special event of the "2012 Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival” that will bring excited visitors to experience in the buzzy atmosphere.

This year is the 120th Traditional Bullfighting Contest which started with its first contest in 1897.

The contest has become the pride of the traditional culture and lively spirit of Jinju City for over 100 years.

The stories about the Jinju Bullfighting Contest’s “Maengwoo” characters are also very interesting.

“Maengwoo” was a very famous fighting bull’s name that used to join the bullfighting and got the best prize even it was badly injured and in a really bad situation.

Maengwoo’s powerful image emphasizes the strong spirit of the Korean people that never gave up in the fight against the Japanese Empire's oppression.

The Jinju traditional Bullfighting Contest’s finals will happen in a few minutes.

Fighting bulls will fight with each other in a sand pit arena.

Bulls weighing at least 630kg compete in the sand pit arena.

In the arena, the bulls will use their big eyes to glare at their opponents and their knife edged horns to fight without any concession.

Visitors will not be able to take their eyes off the spectacle because of the excitement of the contest.

Matches that are too close to call are decided when one bull’s tail falls down.

The owner of the victorious bull is very proud at that moment.

More than 5 thousands visitors in the stadium were clapping their hands and cheering and made the atmosphere more wonderful than ever.

The Bull Fighting Contest has brought all the visitors that came to the 2012 Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival very impressive and wonderful memories.
